2006 MLB All Star Game

The 2006 Major League Baseball All Star Game is coming to Pittsburgh and both the Steel City and the Pittsburgh Pirates are rolling out the red carpet for the Midsummer Classic. This is the fifth time that Pittsburgh has hosted the All Star Game and with all of the surging power hitters hitting their stride, the dominate pitching in both the American and National Leagues and the shut down defense being played this year, the 2006 MLB All Star Game will surely be one to remember.

As always, the 2006 MLB All Star Game starts out the weekend with the 2006 All Star Fan Fest at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center before the action moves over to Pittsburgh's PNC Park home of the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday for the Futures Game that sees rising stars in Major League Baseball go head to head with former baseball greats managing in the dugouts. The fun continues on Monday with the Home Run Derby where the League's best sluggers knock the balls out of the park. The main event, the Midsummer Classic, the 2006 MLB All Star Game hits Tuesday evening with the best players in the game today taking the field for the coveted prize of home field advantage for this year's World Series.
